Vessels Enhanced Recognition Knowledge Base(VERKB)

The Vessels Enhanced Recognition Knowledge Base (VERKB) is a big data decision-support tool which can help us gain insight into the identities, behaviors and intentions of surrounding ships.
According to Ship Name, IMO number, MMSI  number (An ID issued by the ITU) and Position coordinates of surrounding ship s received by the unmanned ship during navigation, we can automatically provide the following information for this ship:

The Vessels Enhanced Recognition Knowledge Base (VERKB) is a big data decision-support tool which can help us gain insight into the identities, behaviors and intentions of surrounding ships.

According to Ship Name, IMO number, MMSI  number (An ID issued by the ITU) and Position coordinates of surrounding ship s received by the unmanned ship during navigation, we can automatically provide the following information for this ship:

üIdentity (name of vessel, type of vessel, flag state, registered owner, vessel management, operator, deadweight ton, etc.);
üPortrait (frequently visited port, frequently hauled cargo,  recently called ports, frequently visited country, active sea area, etc.);
üPrediction (possible destination, estimated time of arrival, trajectory for the past 72 hours, estimated trajectory for the next 24 hours, currently loaded cargo, etc.)

There are more than 500,000 ships all over the world, according to ship positioning data received by satellites. Of these, more than 90,000 were registered with Lloyd's register. Information of those ships are huge and extremely complex.

So it‘s very necessary to perceive the surrounding situation and environment in advance, during the navigation, especially for the unmanned ships and intelligent ships.

Among them, it is crucial to accurately grasp the background information of the ships encountered around the ship, which will affect relevant decisions including navigation safety, tactical judgment, and strategic interests.

The power of VERKB is its big data used, as well as the leading ship-behavior-analysis algorithms. Both are the strongest points of VERKB.

We use the ship register including more than 90,000 ships, datas of historical tracks of more than 500,000 ships worldwide, of more than 5,000 ports around the world, and trade statistics satabase for verification and prediction.
And we adopt 3 core algorithms independently developed by DIGVALUE company: Analysis of Ship Behavior Based on Distributed Storage and Computing, Precise portrait of ships based on machine learning and AI-based ship behavior prediction model.
